Did You Know You Can Track Santa?

Did You Know You Can Track Santa?

Old Saint Nick is coming to town this holiday season. He’s checking his list, and he’s going to be taking a trip around the world to deliver presents. With the help of modern technology we can now track Santa Claus as he makes his journey.

Google has a fun, interactive way to keep tabs on Kris Kringle. By typing “Santa Tracker” into the Google search box, you will be able to pull up the Santa Village. Once you’ve clicked on that you will have access to the Village, which has a new game for every day in December. On December 24 you’ll be able to help the village track Santa on his Christmas Eve trip.

Another popular tracker is the Official North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Santa Tracker. This one is more realistic and high tech. They have real time temperature of the North Pole, as well as games. The website has a Christmas playlist, and fun facts about NORAD. The even have a section of top secret files on Santa Claus.

There are several apps that claim to track Santa as well. For android there is Google Santa Tracker, and for IOS there is Where is Santa Lite. Keeping track of Santa this season will be easier than ever, thanks to our advanced technology and tracking systems. This is a great way to keep kids entertained around Christmas, and keep them believing in the magic that is Santa Claus.

The Cold Weather Is Here

The Cold Weather Is Here

The Cold Weather Is Here

Colder weather is rolling in and we need to be ready. Winter is less than a month away and with freezing temperatures in the forecast, we must be prepared to drive to work in less than ideal conditions.

“Winter is coming,” says any Game of Thrones fan, and they aren’t lying.

Winter starts December 21 and lasts till March 20. This weather can be inconvenient and take a deadly turn if you aren’t prepared. AAA, a nationwide roadside assistance and insurance company, offers several recommendations for commuters driving in hazardous conditions.

AAA states the following on their website:
“Avoid driving while you’re fatigued. Make certain your tires are properly inflated. Keep your gas tank at least half full to avoid gas line freeze-up. Do not use cruise control when driving on any slippery surface (wet, ice, sand). Always look and steer where you want to go. Use your seatbelt every time you get into your vehicle.”

The colder weather brings out many fun activities. The overbearing heat of summer is finally fading away and the mountain are starting to receive snow. This brings out the snowboarders, and skiers while drivers begin grabbing the chains for their tires. Snow reports start appearing as beach reports start to phase out. Luckily, here in California, we will not experience the harsher weather that the rest of the country will. Most Californians will mainly experience sunshine with the occasional stormy day.

More DUI Checkpoints around Holidays

More DUI Checkpoints around Holidays

If you are out driving around near the holidays, you might have noticed an increase in DUI checkpoints. This is typical of any holiday where people drink more alcohol than usual. Officers know that drinking will increase around the holidays, which will lead to an increase in drunk drivers.

The goal of these DUI checkpoints is to reduce the amount of drunk drivers that are on the road. By doing this, officers can save hundreds of lives from being involved in a drunk driving accident. While checkpoints may slow down traffic, they help keeping everyone on the road safe.

Many people do not know that they are allowed to avoid DUI checkpoints, provided they do so without breaking any traffic laws. This is why DUI checkpoint locations are announced ahead of time, to allow people to plan their routes accordingly.

When a person approaches a checkpoint, they can expect to run into a bit of traffic. When they get to the front of their line they should wait until an officer motions for them to move forward. From there, the officer will ask a few questions, and may ask to see the driver’s license and registration. After this, if the officer has no reason to suspect that the driver has been drinking, the driver will be allowed to continue to their destination.

However, if the officer has reason to believe that the driver has been drinking, the driver will need to pull over to a designated area. From there, an officer will conduct a field sobriety test to officially determine if the driver is drunk. Depending on the situation, the driver could then be arrested, forced to sit in a drunk tank, or need to wait for a sober driver to pick them up.

DUI checkpoints may slow down traffic, but they help save lives by keeping drunk drivers off of the streets. It is only natural that more checkpoints start popping up around days where heavy drinking occurs.

What Is the Point of Bail?

What Is the Point of Bail?

What Is the Point of Bail?

This is a question that many people have. Most people have heard of it, and many have seen it on TV, but they still do not have a very good idea of what bail is. Even on TV, bail is often toned down or glossed over so that the show can focus on the story at hand. This is how so many people know about bail, but have no idea how it actually works.

Bail starts when a person is arrested. This is when a person is assigned their bail amount. Typically, the amount is determined by a judge reading off of a bail schedule. A bail schedule is just a list of every crime possible, and what the bail should be for each crime. Every county has its own unique bail schedule. The judge will look at this, and also consider if the defendant poses a threat to the community, or if the defendant is likely to run away. After considering all of this, the judge will assign the person his or her bail amount.

A person’s bail only allows that person to get out of jail during their trial period. This is due to the fact that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. Until the person’s trial is over, they are technically innocent.

If the person wants out of jail, one of their loved ones needs to pay the full amount of the bail to the court. The bail needs to be paid in cash, and will probably cost several thousands of dollars. At the end of the trial, the bail money will be returned to the individual, regardless of the outcome. Unfortunately, this proves to be too expensive of an option for most individuals.

This is where bail bonds come in to play. A bail bond is an agreement between a bail agent and a client. The bail agent agrees to bail the client’s loved one out of jail for a price that is a percentage of the bail they are paying for. In California, bail agents charge 10%. With a bail bond, a person will be able to get their loved one out of jail by only paying 10% of the bail amount. The only downside is that this payment will not be returned at the end of the trial since it is considered payment for the bail agent’s services.

What to Do in California in Fall

What to Do in California in Fall

What to Do in California in Fall

Fall is finally upon us. The warm, sometimes unbearably hot, days of summer are behind us as the days begin to shorten. The air becomes cooler, but not in an unpleasant way. The leaves on the trees begin to change their colors, and migrations begin. Fall is a magical time of the year and represents changing conditions. The state of California has a lot to offer its residents during this time of year, provided you know where to look.

• Eastern Sierra Nevada Hot Springs – The Eastern side of the Sierra Nevada’s along Highway 395 between Mammoth Lakes and Bridgeport offer beautiful fall colors and plenty of hot springs. However, finding the springs that are safe enough to dip into can be tricky, and often requires talking with the area locals to find the best, secluded spots. After all, these hot springs are carefully guarded secrets.
• Artists Village, Santa Ana – In fall, as Día de los Muertos approaches on November 1st, Artists Village in Santa Ana begins gear up for the holiday. The local sidewalks and art studios fill with color in preparation for the holiday. On top of that, studios and workshops open up their doors for free on the first Saturday of each month.
• Wine Trail, Monterey – In fall, wineries begin their harvest of the year’s crop. This is a great time to take a trip along Monterey’s River Road. The road winds through mountains and passes numerous wineries. The trip offers plenty of stunning views, and the ability to try some of the local wine. Just be sure to have a designated driver.
• Yosemite – Fall brings a change of color to Yosemite, turning most of the valley a stunning gold color. With the temperatures cooler, but not too cold, it is the perfect time to hike, explore, and picnic in the valley. As an added bonus, most of the summer tourists have gone home by this point in the year.

This is just a sampling of what you can do in California during the season of change. California is such a large state, the third largest in the country, and it has plenty to offer all year long. With Fall, it is a great time to catch up with nature, and enjoy the cooler temperatures before Winter sets in and drives us all into our warms houses.

Creating an Emergency Kit

Creating an Emergency Kit

Creating an Emergency Kit

As Californians, many of us know that the “Big One” could be just around the corner. We have to live in a constant state of preparedness. This means having plans for what to do in the event of an earthquake, and having supplies ready. The following is a list of supplies that every household should have stashed away in a safe place where everybody knows, just in case.

• 3 gallons of water per person. This should last each individual 3 days.
• A 3 day supply of non-perishable foods
• Baby food, diapers, and wipes if you have a baby
• Pet food and extra water if you have a pet
• A can opener
• Cups, utensils, and plates
• First aid kit
• Fire extinguisher
• Battery powered, or crank powered, radio and flashlight. Plus extra batteries.
• A whistle
• Portable phone charger
• Prescription medicine and glasses for those who need them
• List of contact info for family members and friends
• Important documents in a waterproof and fireproof container
• Waterproof matches
• A blanket
• A supply of cash for food and travel for at least a week
• A change of clothes and shoes for each family member
• Activities for young children, such as crayons and coloring books

All of this can be very helpful in the event of any emergency. While this can offer a great amount of peace of mind, it is important to remember that certain items should be refreshed every six months or so. Things like canned foods, water, and batteries should be replaced from time to time to ensure they are still good in the event of an earthquake.

Get Your First Month Free

Everyone typically has some sort of daily routine that they follow, they get up, go to work, run errands, relax at the end of the day, and then do it all again the following day. Rarely is there ever any time to divert from that schedule. Even if there is time to spare, the person probably doesn’t have the funds to spare.

These are just a few of the reasons why the arrest of a loved one can be so problematic for people. Not only does it interrupt their daily schedule, it threatens their bank account as well. Most people do not have thousands of dollars just lying around to be spent on bail. It will take them months to come up with the thousands of dollars needed for the bail. They do not want to make their loved one’s sit in jail that long.

The arrest of a friend or family member definitely catches most people off guard. Trying to gather the money for the bail will take time, and we get that. This is why we here at Apple Valley Bail Bonds try to reduce this cost for our clients. We start by breaking up the cost of the bail bond into smaller, more manageable monthly payments. This way, the upfront cost of the bail bond is much smaller.

Another way we help out our clients, is by allowing qualified clients to wait a month before making their first payment. We still bail their loved one out of jail, but our clients do not have to make a payment until a month later. This gives them more time to prepare for the payment. A client needs to have good credit to qualify for this.

Yet another way we help out, is by offering a 20% discount on the price of the bail bond. This means that instead of paying 10% of the bail price, our clients will only need to pay 8% of the full bail price. To qualify for this discount, one of the co-signers for the bail bond needs to have a private attorney, be a homeowner, or be a member of a union, the military, or AARP.

Here at Apple Valley Bail Bonds, we understand how difficult it can be to try to bail someone out of jail without any warning. This is why we like to give our clients the opportunity to prepare themselves, while still allowing them rescue their loved one from jail quickly. If a person needs an affordable bail bond, they should talk to one of our bail agents.

Find an Agent You Can Trust

Find an Agent You Can Trust

Find an Agent You Can Trust

Whenever you work with someone, you want to make sure that that person is honest and trustworthy. This becomes even more important when you are paying the person a lot of money. You do not want to waste your money on someone who is not honestly trying to help you.

When it comes to bailing a friend or family member out of jail, you want to find a bail agent that you can trust. While cheaper than paying for the bail yourself, bail bonds can still cost a lot of money. So it is super important to work with a bail agent that you can trust because if you are not careful, you might end up paying for it in the long run.

There are many bad bail agents out there who are only concerned with making a profit. They are not concerned with actually helping their clients, which is why they surprise clients with hidden fees. Hidden fees are how many bad bail agents make extra money off of their clients. The fees are put into the contract that the client signs, in a place where the fee will be easily missed. This way, the agent is legally able to charge you more for the bail bond, because you signed the contract where the fee was listed.

Bail agents that use hidden fees should be avoided. One way to avoid hidden fees is by reading the contract thoroughly. The best way to avoid these kinds of fees is by working with Apple Valley Bail Bonds. We never use hidden fees, and you can trust our bail agents. We are honest and upfront with our clients, unlike our competitors.

Here at Apple Valley Bail Bonds, we actually care about our clients. Our bail agents do everything that they can to help their clients. If you have any questions about the bail bond process, our agents will be happy to answer them.

You can talk to a caring agent right now by calling 760-247-4444 or by clicking Chat With Us.
